April is National Heartworm Awareness Month!
Most of us have heard of heartworms, but don’t really know what they are. Heartworms are spread by mosquitos and can potentially lead to a deadly infection in your pet! Heartworms are actual worms that can grow to be 14 inches long as adults and live in the heart, arteries, and the lungs of the infected animal. This disease is completely preventable and has been diagnosed in all 50 states.
